Beautiful landscapes now. 🌿 Beautiful landscapes later.

Downtown Loveland, CO
With a house addition underway and several trees requiring transplanting, this yard required a major refresh. Two design options were provided for the optional addition of a larger pine. Plant selection was based on the desire to create a lush forest with a focus on white and purple hues.

Exposed to the neighborhood by way of a nature path along the backyard fence, the desire for privacy was paramount. A mixed grass border was proposed, sprinkled with small shrubs and flowers in various warm tones to complement the existing sunflower bed.

Working within budget restraints, plant selection was curated for optimum volume and pricing. An existing flower garden and walking path served as the backbone for the design, while additional plants were added to supplement year-round color. A large turf area was preserved for the family dog.

As a corner lot adjacent to a major thoroughfare in Fort Collins, the need for a sound barrier was top priority. To reduce noise pollution, the side yard was filled in with dense evergreens. Work done elsewhere on the property included the addition of a privacy barrier along the back fence, and a xeriscape makeover of the front yard.

Landscaping for a new build may be daunting to the average homeowner, but it is a blast for any seasoned landscape designer! The planting palette focused on native and low-water selections. A large section of the yard was dedicated to entertainment, with space reserved for dogs and grandkids to play.
